Jerusalem - city settled on disputed past
 

Jerusalem is the center of faith for Jews, Muslims and Christians alike. Here the Holy Sepulkar Church for Christians, the Holy Mosque of Muslims and the Holy Wall of the Jews are situated.

 Holy Church

 Jerusalem has the Holy Sepulcher Church, which is a special place for Christians around the world. Christians believe that Jesus was crucified here and this is also the place where Jesus resurrected. It is the main pilgrimage center for millions of Christians around the world, who visit the empty tomb of Christ. This church is jointly managed by different denominations of Christians.

 Holy mosque
 In Jerusalem itself, there is the sacred domed 'Dome of Rock' i.e. Kuwvatul Sakharah and Al-Aqsa Mosque. It is situated on a plateau which Muslims call 'Haram Al Sharif' or holy place. This mosque is the third holiest place of Islam, it is overseen and administered by an Islamic trust, also known as Waqf. Muslims believe that the Prophet came here from Mecca in his journey and he prayed spiritually to all the prophets. A cornerstone has been laid just a short distance from Kuwvatul Sakharah, about which Muslims believe that Mohammed had gone to heaven from here.

 Holy wall
 The Kotel or part of the Western Wall of Jerusalem is considered to be Jewish-majority because it once housed their sacred temple and this wall is the remaining sign of that. The holiest place of the Jews is the 'Holy of Holies' inside the temple here. The Jews believe that it was here that the foundation of the rock was built on which the world was built and where Abraham sacrificed his son Isaac. The Western Wall is the closest place to the 'Holy of Holies' from which Jews can pray. It is managed by the Rabbis of the Western Wall.

येरुशलम यहूदियों, मुस्लिमों और ईसाइयों की समान आस्था का केंद्र है। यहाँ ईसाईयों के लिये पवित्र सेपुलकर चर्च, मुस्लिमों की पवित्र मस्जिद और यहूदियों की पवित्र दीवार पवित्र दीवार स्थित है।

होली चर्च

येरुशलम में पवित्र सेपुलकर  है, जो दुनिया भर के ईसाइयों के लिये विशिष्ट स्थान है। ईसाई मतावलंबी मानते हैं कि ईसा मसीह को यहीं सूली पर लटकाया गया था और यही वह स्थान भी है जहाँ ईसा फिर जीवित हुए थे। यह दुनिया भर के लाखों ईसाइयों का मुख्य तीर्थस्थल है, जो ईसा के खाली मकबरे की यात्रा करते हैं। इस चर्च का प्रबंध संयुक्त तौर पर ईसाइयों के अलग-अलग संप्रदाय करते हैं।

पवित्र मस्जिद

येरुशलम में ही पवित्र गुंबदाकार 'डोम ऑफ रॉक' यानी कुव्वतुल सखरह और अल-अक्सा मस्जिद है। यह एक पठार पर स्थित है जिसे मुस्लिम 'हरम अल शरीफ' या पवित्र स्थान कहते हैं। यह मस्जिद इस्लाम की तीसरी सबसे पवित्र जगह है, इसकी देखरेख और प्रशासन का ज़िम्मा एक इस्लामिक ट्रस्ट करता है, जिसे वक्फ भी कहा जाता है। मुसलमान मानते हैं कि पैगंबर अपनी यात्रा में मक्का से यहीं आए थे और उन्होंने आत्मिक तौर पर सभी पैगंबरों से दुआ की थी। कुव्वतुल सखरह से कुछ ही दूरी पर एक आधारशिला रखी गई है जिसके बारे में मुसलमान मानते हैं कि मोहम्मद यहीं से स्वर्ग की ओर गए थे।

पवित्र दीवार

येरुशलम का कोटेल या पश्चिमी दीवार का हिस्सा यहूदी बहुल माना जाता है क्योंकि यहाँ कभी उनका पवित्र मंदिर था और यह दीवार उसी की बची हुई निशानी है। यहाँ मंदिर के अंदर यहूदियों की सबसे पवित्रतम जगह 'होली ऑफ होलीज़' है। यहूदी मानते हैं यहीं पर सबसे पहले उस शिला की नींव रखी गई थी, जिस पर दुनिया का निर्माण हुआ और जहाँ अब्राहम ने अपने बेटे इसाक की कुरबानी दी थी। पश्चिमी दीवार, 'होली ऑफ होलीज़' की वह सबसे करीबी जगह है, जहाँ से यहूदी प्रार्थना कर सकते हैं। इसका प्रबंध पश्चिमी दीवार के रब्बी करते हैं।

सूरदास (जीवन परिचय)

भूमिका भक्ति कालीन कवियों में सूरदास, कबीरदास और तुलसीदास का नाम बड़े सम्मान से लिया जाता है। इनमें सूरदास कृष्ण भक्ति शाखा के श्रेष्ठ कवि हैं, जिन्होंने अपनी रचनाओं के द्वारा हिंदी साहित्य को एक दिशा प्रदान की। इनकी रचनाएँ ब्रज भाषा में है। यद्यपि इनके विषय में कहा जाता है कि सूरदास जन्मांध थे। किंतु इनकी रचनाओं से यह विश्वास नहीं होता कि वे जन्म से अंधे रहे होंगे। संयोग-वियोग का चित्रण, बाल लीला का वर्णन जिस प्रकार से उनकी रचनाओं में मिलता है। इससे यह संदेह होता है कि कोई अलौकिक दृष्टि ही उतनी गहराई से देख सकती है। यह तो किसी अलौकिक दृष्टि का ही योगदान है। व्यक्तित्व सूरदास के जन्म के विषय में भी कोई स्पष्ट मत नहीं है। कुछ लोगों का मत है कि सूरदास का जन्म फरीदाबाद (हरियाणा) के निकट सीही नामक गाँव में संवत 1478 में हुआ था। कुछ विद्वानों के अनुसार सूरदास का जन्म आगरा और मथुरा के बीच स्थित रुनकता नामक गाँव में हुआ था। जो भी हो, सूरदास का जन्म कहीं भी हुआ हो, किंतु सूरदास का अस्तित्व निर्विवाद है। (surdas par nibandh) सूरदास श्रीकृष्ण के अनन्य भक्त थे। वे किशोरावस्था में मथुर

रसखान (एक जीवन परिचय)

रसखान का जन्म सन् 1548 में हुआ माना जाता है । उनका मूल नाम सैयद इब्राहिम था और वे दिल्ली के आस - पास के रहने वाले थे । कृष्ण - भक्ति ने उन्हें ऐसा मुग्ध कर दिया कि गोस्वामी विट्ठलनाथ से दीक्षा ली और ब्रजभूमि में जा बसे । सन् 1628 के लगभग उनकी मृत्यु हुई । सुजान रसखान और प्रेमवाटिका उनकी उपलब्ध कृतियाँ हैं । रसखान रचनावली के नाम से उनकी रचनाओं का संग्रह मिलता है । प्रमुख कृष्णभक्त कवि रसखान की अनुरक्ति न केवल कृष्ण के प्रति प्रकट हुई है बल्कि कृष्ण - भूमि के प्रति भी उनका अनन्य अनुराग व्यक्त हुआ है । उनके काव्य में कृष्ण की रूप - माधुरी , ब्रज - महिमा , राधा - कृष्ण की प्रेम - लीलाओं का मनोहर वर्णन मिलता है । वे अपनी प्रेम की तन्मयता , भाव विह्नलता और आसक्ति के उल्लास के लिए जितने प्रसिद्ध हैं उतने ही अपनी भाषा की मार्मिकता , शब्द - चयन तथा व्यंजक शैली के लिए । उनके यहाँ ब्रजभाषा का अत्यंत सरस और मनोरम प्रयोग मिलता है , जिसमें ज़रा भी शब्दाडंबर नहीं है । रसखान के दोहे, सवैया, कवित्त और छंद ने ब्रज भाषा के साहित्य को विपुल संस्कार दिए हैं। कृष्ण प्रेम ने उन्हें भक्ति कवि का द
